Portugal Rugby Youth Festival's Liaison Officers go the extra mile for their teams

What we ask of our liaison officers is that they be nothing short of exceptional.

For us, the liaison officer is a key part of the Portugal Rugby Youth Festival, because he or she is with its team at all times and has to give everything he or she has to make sure the team is happy the whole time while in Lisbon. In other words, the liaison officer has to deal with every member of the team he or she is in charge of as if it were his or her grandmother or younger brother.
Therefore, each of our liaison officers is always ready and attentive to whatever may happen and even more so to solve any emergency.

Thus, when one of the young players of the Irish club Shannon RFC got seriously injured in one of his feet, João Moura, our liaison officer, immediately went on a mission to get a pair of crutches.
John first spoke with the doctors and the firemen at the Festival grounds, with no luck. Without hesitation, he then went over to the Hospital Santa Maria, walking all over the gigantic building to find the crutches - again with no luck.

The trifles didn't tamper with our liaison officer's enthusiasm. He got into a scooter and went into the heart of Lisbon, only returning to the event venue with a pair of crutches in his hand.

Keith Higgins, Shannon RFC's coach, said: "we can not speak highly enough about our team liaison. He is an absolutely first-class man and this says so much about the Portuguese commitment to our well being and enjoyment of the weekend".
